The average consumer attention span in 2012 was a remarkable 8 seconds, that's down from 12 seconds in the year 2000. According to the same report the average attention span of a goldfish is 9 seconds!

The blistering speed of modern communications coupled with the relative ease of access to multiple media channels is making visibility in the marketplace an ever increasing challenge. If you don't meet the challenge, if your brand is not noticed, you will be quickly forgotten.

According to BusinessDictionary.com, branding is the process involved in creating a unique name and image for a product in the consumers' mind, mainly through advertising campaigns with a consistent theme. Branding aims to establish a significant and differentiated presence in the market that attracts and retains loyal customers.

Your competition is everywhere. Your competition is out there fighting to be seen. If your competition is seen more often than you, in time, you will disappear from the forefront of your clients' minds. When that occurs, you are vulnerable.

Never stop creating visibility opportunities. Use whatever media you can to be out there. From direct mailers to community service, do what it takes to be seen.
